Fibre Optics

Our specialist fibre-optic cable assemblies are perfect for harsh environments and are manufactured to the highest quality, making them suitable for Defence, Aerospace, Rail, and other critical applications where reliability is essential. All our fibre-optic assemblies are manufactured using the highest-grade materials so that the performance of our assemblies is second to none.

We have invested significantly in our fibre-optic capabilities and this is evident in our dedicated fibre-optic manufacturing laboratory which incorporates the very latest in processing and test equipment. Machine polishing is conducted as standard on all contact ferrules to eliminate variation from the manufacturing process, followed by a 3-stage inspection process.

Our interferometer is used to check the face geometry of the ferrule to ensure optimal contact. This is followed by a visual inspection using an inspection probe to check the condition of the end face and ensuring a perfect finish has been achieved. Finally, the fibre-optic assemblies undergo validation tests for insertion loss and return loss to provide our customers with the reassurance that the cables will perform as expected and are built to last. All assemblies are then shipped with a full test certificate.

As an independent company, Phoenix Dynamics can source and assemble fibre-optic connector systems from all major manufacturers. With support from our Engineering Team, we work with customers to fully understand the application, then use our skills and knowledge to select the best components to deliver the right performance. Our skilled engineers can also provide a full design and consultancy service to address customer specific challenges and provide cost-effective solutions to save you both time and money. But it is also the skills of our operators that terminate the cables with constant repeatability that makes us the long-term partner for customers on fibre-optic projects. This has led to us to deliver systems that can be used underwater, on land, in the air or even in space.

Because of our background in copper wire harnessing, we are in the privileged position that we can offer our customers hybrid cable assemblies with mixed technology, where a single assembly can distribute power by traditional copper wires and high-speed data via fibre-optics. A combined assembly can benefit the customer with a reduction in overall weight and size, and a lower total cost.

We also offer a third-party testing and troubleshooting service for your existing fibre-optic products.
